About Oset

Country of Origin: United Kingdom
Founder: Ian Smith (inspired by his son Oliver)
Best Known For: Electric trials bikes for kids and youths; quiet training platforms

Company History

Oset reimagined kids’ trials by swapping petrol thump for whisper-quiet torque and parental control. Adjustable power maps and speed limits let young riders learn balance, clutch-free throttle control, and precise braking without noise or fumes, opening parks and backyards that were off-limits to ICE. The frames and components are built to bounce—lightweight but robust, with geometry that teaches correct body position and traction management. As riders graduate, larger Oset models extend the learning curve into teen and adult play, and clubs worldwide run Oset-friendly sections that encourage family participation. Historically, Oset made trials—and by extension, motorcycling—more accessible to families by removing barriers of noise, complexity, and intimidation. Many future enduro and MX riders discovered line choice and front-wheel placement on an Oset.
