About Rokon

Country of Origin: United States
Founder: Orla Larsen (Neracar heritage); later Rokon International
Best Known For: 2-wheel-drive trail bikes (Trail-Breaker) that conquer extreme terrain

Company History

Rokon’s 2WD motorcycles are purpose-built tools for hunters, farmers, line crews, and explorers who value go-anywhere traction more than speed. A front-drive system via chains and a driveshaft sends torque to the leading wheel; huge, low-pressure tires float over mud and snow; and gearing crawls up slopes that defeat conventional bikes. Some models feature hollow drum wheels that can carry fuel or water and even provide flotation for short water crossings. Maintenance is intentionally simple—carbureted thumpers, accessible chains, agricultural-grade fasteners—so owners far from dealerships can keep them operational. At trail speeds the machines feel unstoppable, turning deep woods and bogs into passable routes for gear and game recovery. Historically, Rokon stands as a reminder that the motorcycle’s utility extends beyond recreation and commuting: with the right ingenuity, two wheels can perform work typically reserved for four, opening terrain and tasks that would otherwise require much heavier, more expensive equipment.
