Scott Motorcycles were decades ahead of their time, championing water-cooled two-stroke twins with silky power and forward-thinking frames. The famous Squirrel models combined lightness with stamina, winning hill climbs and road races and influencing how riders thought about lubrication and cooling. Scotts were engineering showcases: chain-driven pumps, telescopic forks in early forms, and layouts that invited both curiosity and respect. Their uniqueness also demanded devoted maintenance and a rider who appreciated their strengths. As the industry standardized around four-stroke multis and then modern twins, Scott’s volume declined, but its legend grew among enthusiasts. Historically, Scott proves that radical ideas can be both fast and durable, and that the path not taken still teaches future engineers where performance and elegance can meet.
